Niometrics is a network security company that specializes in analyzing network traffic at layer-7. Its best-of-breed application recognition and control solution helps enterprises protect their networks against modern malware, unauthorized and high-risk applications.

Our Technology

Niometrics has developed a unique application recognition engine that is able to analyze network traffic at the application with industry-leading detection rates at gigabit speeds. A traffic telemetry service helps discover new applications and improves detection. An open architecture allows further integration with customization to meet highly-specific user requirements.

Company History

Niometrics was founded in 2009, after more than five years of intense research and development in network traffic analysis.

The initial research for Niometrics’ network monitoring technology was carried at the Institute for Infocomm Research. The initial R&D focus was on detecting well-known “bad” applications, such as file sharing systems that can overload networks.

With the support of Exploit Technologies Commercialization-of-Technology Programme, the scope was further expanded into inventing methods for analyzing previously-unknown traffic and identifying features to be used as part of a detection ruleset.

The resulting CUB4 engine was finely-tuned to enable network managers to better audit and control their networks and is able to detect IT policy violations and perform fine-grained analysis for potential threats without enforcing unnecessarily strict blocking policies.
